Boiled Peas




1 cup peas (frozen or soaked overnight)
½ onion chopped finely
½ tomato chopped finely
1 green chilli chopped
coriander chopped
salt to taste
a pinch of chat masala (or aamchur powder)
tomato ketchup

Fort pakodas:
Besan
Salt to taste

Mix besan with salt and water. You can also add a pinch of soda. Heal oil in a fryin pan and fry small pakodas.

Pressure cook the peas until very soft (add a little extra water). Mash a few peas so as to have a mushy texture. Add salt, chat masala/aamchur powder, chopped coriander, chopped onion, tomato, green chilli, pakodas and ketchup. Your quick and healthy chat is ready J

Poha (Chirer pulao)



1 small onion chopped
Handful of roasted nuts
1 cup poha jada (not the thin one)
1/2” ginger grated
Mustard seed
A few Curry leaves
Salt to taste
A pinch of turmeric
1 Green chilli

Wash the poha and drain the water. Set aside.

Heat oil in a kadai. Add the mustard and turmeric. Adding turmeric at this stage adds a bright color to the poha. Once it splatters, add the chopped onion, ginger and curry leaves. Fry till onion becomes golden. Add the poha and salt. Atir nicey, add lemon juice and remove from heat. Enjoy with a hot cuppa of tea.
You can also add boiled peas to this.
